Cooperative Innovation's Impact On Innovation Performance Under The Threshold Effect

As innovation has become an important concept in China,more and more enterprises began to put emphasis on the cultivation of innovative ability.As a technological model and new research area,cooperative innovation was gained attention by the state and enterprises.In recent years,Chinese enterprises' cooperation innovation continuously become active,have made great contributions to technology development.But with the deepening of the cooperative innovation,the risk such as technical or management risk appear in the process of cooperative innovation.So It is worthwhile to study cooperative innovation's impact on innovation performance,and in which circumstances cooperative innovation can play a better role.Through literature review,according to the different participants we can divide the cooperative innovation into two kinds:The industrial-university cooperative innovation and the enterprises cooperative innovation.We can divide the innovation performance into two categories according to the different innovation outputs:market-oriented innovation performance and technology-oriented innovation performance.We draw the model of cooperative innovation's impact on innovation performance based on the analysis above.What's more,based on the interaction of independent innovation and cooperation innovation,and the absorptive capacity theory,we established threshold effect model of intramural expenditure on R&D,and draw the conclusion that the cooperative innovation's impact on innovation performance under the threshold effect of intramural expenditure on R&D.We propose 4 main hypotheses and 12 sub-hypotheses based on the theoretical model.And use Knowledge Production Function and Panel Threshold Regression to test the 28 industry data of large and medium-sized manufacturing industry in 2005 to 2015,to analyze the impact of different cooperative innovation patterns on different oriented innovation performance and the intramural expenditure on R&D has a threshold effect on cooperative innovation's impact on the innovation performance,and how to influence the impact of cooperative innovation on innovation performance.From this study,we can find that industrial-university cooperative innovation is a more efficient model for the innovation performance,but it has lag effect.Intramural expenditure on R&D has a threshold effect on cooperative innovation's impact on market-oriented innovation performance.Intramural expenditure on R&D only has a threshold effect on enterprises cooperative innovation's impact on technology-oriented innovation,but when it comes to the industrial-university cooperative innovation,there is no threshold effect.
