The Study On Community Banking Development Mode Of China's City Commercial Banks

City commercial bank is a significant component of China's banking system,which also plays an important role in the economic development.With downward pressure on China's economy,interest rate liberation,financial disintermediation and the development of internet,city commercial banks are facing new opportunities and challenges.It has become a new topic for study that how to transform the business strategies of city commercial banks.Community Banks originated in the United States,which have several main features include smaller assets,simpler corporate governance structure,more traditional scope of business,smaller business area,and mainly providing services to small and medium-sized enterprises and the residents in local regions.They are similar with city commercial banks in China.Based on the research findings of the development mode of American community banks from domestic and foreign scholars,this paper firstly analyzes the current situation of China and state of city commercial banks,and discusses the feasibility of city commercial banks developing community banking.It is important for city commercial banks to take different business strategies from large commercial banks and national shareholding banks.City commercial banks should contribute to local economic development by providing services to small and medium-sized enterprises and the residents.They must choose different community banking development mode base on their assets,marketing strategies,business area and so on.City commercial banks should also take characteristic strategies by product innovation to provide better service to small and medium-sized enterprises and the residents.
