With the development of global integration,international engineering machinery enterprises have already preempted the international advantageous locations.They combined their own regional advantages with technology,brand and management to supplant the living space of native and emerging engineering machinery manufacturing enterprises.As "the latecomer" and "the weaker",engineering machinery enterprises of China must face their disadvantages which are backward technology,poor product quality and unskilled regional development,etc.And they must have to compete with international construction machinery enterprises in the same international market.Therefore,learning advanced ideas on international management and establishing suitable transnational strategies are the importance of their development.Under the pressure of economic globalization and horizontal competition,upgrading the strategic management by continuous optimization of spatial layout has become the only way which must be passed.Compared with the present situations and characteristics of engineering machinery enterprise,this paper aimed to analyze the present existing problems in the spatial layout of SHANTUI group on the basis of studying on the spatial layout,organization structure and economic benefit of typical engineering machinery enterprises.After that,we put forward alternative schemes of internationalization development and strategies for SHANTUI group.This study introduced the theories including strategic management,location theory,regional spatial structure theory,etc.And the methods of system analysis,comparative analysis,data envelopment analysis and GIS were employed.The spatial layout evolvement track and its characteristics of typical engineering machinery enterprises were analyzed.The influences of the change of spatial layout on enterprise benefits were explored.Taking SHANTUI group as an example,the spatial layout evolvement track was analyzed and its internationalization development strategies were put forward.The results of this paper mainly included:(1)For the study,we analyzed and introduced the theories including strategic management,location theory,regional spatial structure theory,international operation theory,etc.(2)From global engineering machinery industry,we analyzed that international engineering machinery enterprises faced with the characteristics that the present manufacturers and sales in the international engineering machinery are shifting to emerging economic countries;rental market is fast developing;after-sales service is becoming more and more seriously and outsourcing service is growing efficiently,etc.From domestic engineering machinery industry,we analyzed that they also encountered these characteristics such as increasingly fierce competition,raised production concentration and industrial cluster,dependent innovation ability,lacked core technology,etc.(3)We applied GIS method to research on the evolvement of spatial layout for engineering machinery enterprises.We found that there were many similarities and differences in the location selection,spatial layout and organization structure between SHANTUI group,Volvo construction equipment(China)and Komatsu(China).The method of data envelopment analysis(DEA)was applied to study the relationship between spatial layout,organization structure,proportion of import and export trade and enterprise’s operating income and net profit by using enterprise’s financial data and expert scores.It showed that the enterprise’s spatial layout and its strategy,organization structure and proportion of import and export trade affected the enterprise’s operating income and net profit to a large extent.It helped to select the plan of spatial layout and new organization structure for SHANTUI group according to the analysis results.(4)We analyzed SHANTUI group in the location selection,spatial layout and organization structure on the current situations and the existing problems.From international operation perspective,we proposed some solutions on the issues of location selection,spatial layout and organization structure in the "South African".Compared SHANTUI group with Volvo construction equipment(China)and Komatsu(China)in the spatial layout evolvement and characteristics,we attained the existing problems in the location selection,spatial layout and organization structure and put forward some solutions for its international operation in "South Africa" region.
