Research On The Critical Illness Insurance In Inner Mongolia

It is not perfect for the previous basic medical insurance system.To lower the high medical expenses of the critical illnesses,Chinese government issued the Guidelines of Critical Illness Insurance for Urban and Rural Residents in 2012,providing urban and rural residents with the critical illness insurance from the insurance companies.The government of Xilingol purchased the critical illness insurance from a local insurance company,and started the implementation of the critical illness insurance policy in Inner Mongolia in November 2012.Further,in June 2013,Inner Mongolia launched a pilot project of critical illness insurance policy for six cities including Hohhot.At last,all 12 cities of Inner Mongolia provided the critical illness insurance for urban residents at the end of June 2015.The paper reviews the background,the dynamic process,and the necessity of the critical illness insurance for the urban and rural residents,especially in Inner Mongolia.The research conducts a comparative analysis through focusing on foreign countries and domestic cities' experiences of medical insurance system.On the basis of taking consideration of domestic and foreign experiences,the author puts forward some suggestions for the sustainable development of the critical illness insurance in Inner Mongolia.
