Sino-US Agricultural Machinery Industry Intra-industry Trade And Its Influencing Factors

China is a major agricultural country in the world,but at the same time,as a populous country,China also imports a large number of food to meet domestic demand every year.The United States is the world's leading exporter of food,the productivity of agricultural workers in the United States is much higher than China,which is largely due to the different rates of agricultural mechanization.Therefore,this paper selects China agricultural machinery trade with the United States as the research object.From the perspective of intra industry trade,this paper analyzes the affecting factors that influence the intra industry trade between China and the United states.This thesis first state the current situation of the development of agricultural machinery in China;then study the current situation of agricultural machinery trade of China and the current situation of trade between the United States and China,and then employ the TSC index to measure the intermediate products and the final products.This paper also uses GL index and GHM method to measure the level and type of the intra industry trade in agricultural machinery between China and America.This paper also analysis their influencing factors.Through empirical analysis by the software Stata 14 on the influential factors in China-America agricultural machinery intra-industry trade including the cost profit ratio of agricultural machinery industry in China,the difference of agricultural machinery between China and America,the differences in agricultural output value and per capita income between China and the United States,the proportion of foreign capital in China's agricultural machinery industry and the number of enterprises above the scale of China's agricultural machinery industry.This thesis reach a conclusion that the economies of scale,the scale of market and the competition in the market will boost the intra-industry trade among them,while the difference of agricultural machinery product and the foreign investment will hamper it.In view of the existing problems and influencing factors of the trade in agricultural machinery industry,combined with the actual situation of China's agricultural machinery industry,the paper puts forward some suggestions to accelerate the development of the intra-industry trade in agricultural machinery between China and the United States.
