Objective:Construct a mental fatigue scale for manufacturing production operator,and provide an effective tool for mental fatigue evaluation,monitoring and improvement.Methods:Standardized procedure was used to develop the scale so that the scale can satisfy psychometric norms.1.To build the item pool by reviewing literatures,learning from famous international similar scales and consulting experts.2.The development of pre-scale: general revision and combination was done to the item pool based on election and evaluation by experts,then being modified after herbaceous surveying.3.The development of standard scale: we used the pre-scale to perform study in employees.By analyzing the survey data,items were revised again4.The mental fatigue level of manufacturing production operator and its influencing factors: totally 550 elderly were performed study,and the data was analyzed by SPSS.Results:1.Item analysis: through the critical ratio,correlation,internal consistency analysis,thirteen items were excluded.2.Reliability testing:(l)Cronbach's ?: each factor is between 0.836 ~ 0.906,the total scale of 0.909;(2)The split-half reliability: each factor coefficient was 0.769~0.854,and the total scale of 0.790;(3)The reliability of test-retest: f each factor was 0.803 ~ 0.845,and the total scale was 0.878.3.Validity testing:(l)Construce validity: extracted 6 factors: emotional exhaustion,working environment,working mechanism,personality characteristics,self-awareness,activities reducing,which accumulated contribution rate reached 66.955%;(2)Subscales consistency: the pearson value between 0.302 ~ 0.627 for subscales,the subscale-total scale was 0.580~0.766;(3)Confirmatory factor analysis: X2/df?CFI?RMSEA et.al indices in the first-order and second-order factors were all acceptable.4.The degree of mental fatigue was moderate to upper(3.491±0.656).The average score of the 6 subscales from high to low were working mechanism,emotional exhaustion,personality characteristics,activities reducing,self-awareness,working environment.5.Significant difference in the mental fatigue of employee was observed in educational background,marriage,age and department.Conclusion:1.The scale showed good reliability and validity,which can be used as an efficient mental fatigue measurement tool for production operators.2.The mental fatigue of employee was mainly affected by the educational background,marriage,age and department.
