With the rapid development of the global economy and the increasing shortage of resources, the competition our manufacturing enterprises face is becoming more and more vigorously. Under the background of this era, more and more manufacturing enterprises begin to implement the lean production mode. Compared with the traditional mode of production, lean production mode puts forward more requirements to the operators. In our country, some enterprises carry out the lean production mode, but actually a great deal of manual operation still exists in the process of their production. If the lean production mode is unreasonably implemented, the operators may become tired more easily, which will further affect the work efficiency, reduce the performance of individual operators, harm the physical and mental health of operators, and ultimately bring great loss to enterprises and operators. Therefore, exploring the relationship between the operation fatigue and individual performance under the lean production mode, and analyzing the factors that influence the work fatigue are beneficial to the enterprises to implement the lean production mode more effectively.Firstly, this paper introduces the background and significance of the research, and then describes the theoretical bases and literature reviews that relate to the lean production mode, work fatigue and individual performance. All of them lay a theoretical foundation for further research.Secondly, with the Subjective Fatigue Symptoms Questionnaire, the Fatigue Parts Questionnaire, the Cumulative Fatigue Symptoms Index, the Personal Performance Questionnaire and the Fatigue Factors Questionnaire, this article conducted research on 300 lean production operators and 100 normal operators who came from five lean production enterprises of Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province. After issuing the questionnaire, with the help of SPSS 19.0, this article analyzed the reliability and validity of the data. And according to the comparative analysis, the findings indicated that the subjective fatigue symptoms and cumulative fatigue symptoms of the operators from lean production department were more serious.Moreover, based on the above theoretical basis of the previous text, this article builds a conceptual model of fatigue factors, work fatigue, individual performance under lean production mode, and then puts forward hypothesis, both of which are verified by AMOS 21.0. The results of analysis show that: ⑴ the fatigue factors(work posture, the load force, task difficulty and mental load) have significant positive impacts on work fatigue. ⑵ The physical fatigue of operators has negative impacts on relationship performance, task performance, innovation performance and learning performance. ⑶ The mental fatigue has negative impacts on task performance, innovative performance and learning performance, without direct negative impacts on relationship performance. ⑷ The physical fatigue and mental fatigue have different impacts on the different dimensions of individual performance.Finally, based on the results of study, the researcher puts forward corresponding suggestions for the enterprises from the perspective of human factors engineering to improve the work fatigue condition in the process of implementing lean production mode. At last, the direction of the research in the future is prospected.
