Variation Analysis On Regional Gap Of Economic Development And Personal Income In China

In recent years,the Chinese people have higher expectations for balanced regional development along with the rapid development of economic and residents' living standard.A more complex variation trend of the regional gap of economic development and personal income was presented before the twenty-first century,and expanded in the last few years of the century.In order to balance the regional economic development and narrow the regional gap,a series of regional economic policies aimed to promote economic growth and income growth of the backward regions have been implemented by Chinese government.In the new century,under the influence of these policies,whether the regional gaps begin to shrink,how the special trends and what the influence factors are need further research.In this paper,the variation coefficient of per capita GDP and per capita income of 31 provinces and cities in China are calculated of the year 2000 to 2013.A new narrowing trend of the gaps and a new pattern of regional economic equilibrium and regional income distribution have appeared.The generation of the new pattern mainly depends on the high speed economy development and the rapid income growth in the backward areas,due to constraints of the income-development ratio,the time that the gap of regional residents' income reaching its peak value and the narrowing speed fall behind in the gap of regional economic development.In this paper,the changing of the government fiscal transfer payments and the resident transferability income and the urbanization rate in different regions are analyzed.The result that the regional gap can be narrowed by the change of government fiscal transfer payment is inferred.In order to reduce the regional disparity in China,the suggestions that intensifying the efforts of government fiscal transfer payment and increasing the transfer income of low-income areas especially in rural areas and promoting the process of urbanization in the backward areas actively are given.
