| The research is aimed at determining the impact of training and development programs in performance of employees of the ready-made garment industry in Bangladesh.Specific emphasis was on Chinese garment companies in the country,focusing on the training programs these companies provide to their employees.The study further determined the outcome of those programs for workers.The research was conducted in three reputed Chinese garment companies in Dhaka Export Processing Zone(DEPZ).In literature review section shows that employee is considered as the major element of every firm and their success and failure mainly based on their performance.Training & development programs increase the employees’ performance.Consequently,accuracy,effectiveness,good work and safety practices can be expected.It is describing the merits of training and its positive influence on employee performance.The data collection method used was primary survey on employees of sample Chinese garment companies.This was supported by secondary research on previous studies,articles,case studies,industry reports,government papers,different institutions’ works,popular newspaper reports and interview of resource persons.Percentage analysis and Frequency analysis are the primary tools used for the data analysis.The findings of the study revealed that the training programs are playing important role in garment industries.Trained workers do not only become competitive and effective on their jobs but their general livelihoods are also improved.Furthermore,it has been established that companies with well trained workforce have increased production levels hence their expansion.It has also been discovered that employees feel safer than before in their workplace for fire safety training provided by company. |
