Research On Information Technology Investment,IT Governance And Corporate Performance

With the rapid development of global economic integration and information technology,the living environment of the enterprise is constantly changing.More and more companies invest a large amount of information assets in order to keep the advantage in the fierce competition,which is the only outlet for the development of enterprise and strategic choice.A problem being worth concerning,however,is whether domestic or foreign,the performance of enterprise is not good.So,the problem of information technology investment has been the focus of attention of many scholars,some research suggests that information technology investment can improve business performance,while others have the opposite conclusion.Therefore the issue has not yet reached a consensus conclusion in the academic community.This paper argues that enterprises should manage and integrate them based on the increasing investment in information assets,which can reduce the risk of information technology investment and thus help improve business performance.Based on the 2012-2014 years of China top 500 listed companies as samples,this paper adopts the empirical method to study the relationship among the information technology investment,IT governance and corporate performance.The regression results show that:(1)The regression coefficient of information investment intensity and corporate performance indicators is small,regardless of the influence of IT governance level.(2)The relationship between IT governance and corporate performance is significantly positive.The result is in accordance with the hypotheses of the present study and is consistent with previous studies.This is mainly because the company production and management efficiency in all aspects can be improved,a nd its operating costs can also be reduced,thereby improving the level of corporate governance and the performance of the company in the presence of IT governance.(3)Information technology investment plays a positive role for corporate performance to some extent in the case of IT governance,which shows that IT governance can play a significant role.Research results indicate that if a company invests a lot of information assets,it can obtain the corresponding return only in the presence of the IT governance with the rapid development of information and technology.
