| With its successful accession to the World Trade Organization,China has achieved rapid growth in import and export trade, and meanwhile been targeted temporary trade barriers from different countries, such as anti-dumping investigations、anti-subsidies investigations and various safeguard measures. It turns out that,up to 2016,China has been the country that suffered most anti-dumping investigations for 21 consecutive years, and most anti-subsidies investigations for 10 consecutive years.Nowadays, the discussion whether China will automatically obtain the status of market economy has grown in intensity as it has been in WTO for 15 years. Many scholars believe that the disapproval of its market economy status has left China most anti-dumping investigations in the EU and the US market, and thus imposed great impact on its export trade. However, the relationship between the two has come under question due to the absence of data to prove China’s non-market economy status has directly influenced its exports.Based on this, the article, first introduces the origination and definition of non-market economy, then introduces the relationships between the non-market economy status and a country’s exports, and secondly, applies two empirical models to prove the relationships. All of these researches would be subject to the U.S.Commerce Department’s decision. As China’s market economy status has not been widely recognized, the article tends to figure out whether or not there are significant differences between the export volumes before and after the countries turned from non-market economy into market economy, which may indicate something in China. If there are significant differences,it is necessary for China to strive for its market economy status and the article will offer the relative reasonable suggestions. If not, that is to say,non-market economy has limited power to affect a country’s export volume, the article will suggest a rational and calm analysis of the necessity of China’s endeavor to obtain its market economy status. |
