Process Improvement Of Product Upgrade Instruction Implementation Base On ACE

Facing the fierce competition in China elevator market,the world largest elevator company,S Elevator Company,increased its investment in quality,and focused on its product upgrade instruction(PUI)projects globally.In October 2014,a PUI project was launched by S Company Tianjin Factory.The purpose of this project was to globally upgrade door deterrent device function of elevator car door.A huge number of PUI material applications from S company braches were received in a short period of time.At meantime,S company Tianjin factory was actively preparing for the huge material requirement.In November 2014,a lot of feed backs were received on PUI material delivery delay.A process improvement team was setup immediately to dispose the situation.The example discussed in this thesis was based on this background.This thesis firstly introduced the PUI work process of S company and ACE operation system,then based on the real data of field turn backs,clearly defined and investigated the problem,and verified the solutions with QCPC,RRCA tools.By using these tools,the lead time of PUI material delivery was significantly shorted,and the customer complaints were reduced as well.During the period of solution verification,the VSM tool was first time applied on the material delivery process analysis in PUI implementation of S company.And based on all of these,PUI implementation process was improved finally.This thesis combined a series of ACE tools,found an executable way to optimize the PUI implementation process,which brought together a lot of hard work of team members.The purpose of this thesis is to provide some new ideas and practical experiences on the combination of multiple ACE tools through the case of S company's PUI implementation process improvement,to solve other management issue in the similar industry.
