Since the 1990s,trade in services has played an important role in the world economy and employment. Not only the total amount of trade in services has experienced a rapid growth, the proportion of value-added services trade to the world's GDP is also growing.More and more countries are placing trade in services into the scope of international trade negotiations.Nevertheless, the barriers to trade in services in the international trade in services hinder the development of liberalization of trade in services.Studying the impact of trade barriers on trade on the size of trade is of great significance to the development of relevant trade policies. In the literature review section, this paper summarizes the related literature on service trade barriers and trade scale, and establishes the theoretical basis for the whole paper. In the current situation analysis section, the data of World Bank's Services Trade Restrictions Index is used to describe the status quo of service trade barriers at the national level and at the industry level. The differences in the trade restriction indices of different industries in different regions in the world are compared.Subsequently, this paper compares the data of the trade scale of services and goods trade in various regions of the world through some charts. Finally, this paper uses sector-level data to describe the changes and differences of the trade structure of services and goods in different regions of the world. The main part of the article is divided into impact mechanism analysis and empirical analysis. In the impact mechanism analysis part, the paper analyzes the possible channels of service trade influence the scale and structure of service trade, the scale and structure of trade of goods by using relevant theoretical basis. In the empirical analysis, the gravity model is introduced first, and then the gravity model is used to analyze the relevant data through the PPML regression. The influence of the trade barrier on the trade scale is discussed through the detailed comparison of the regression results of different industries. Finally,it is concluded that the trade barrier of trade can not only hinder the development of the scale of service trade, but also has spill-over effect on the scale of trade in goods. The impact of trade barriers of financial sector, transport sector, telecommunications sector and professional services on higher-technology-intensive services are relatively greater than that of traditional services, and is therefore not conducive to the optimization of trade in services. The liberalization of the financial sector, the telecommunications industry and the professional services sector can optimize the trade structure of goods, and liberalization of trade in services cannot optimize the trade structure of goods.the service industry plays an important role in the global value chain production and consumption patterns. The degree to which services can be traded plays a decisive role of trade on the cost and quality of goods. Therefore,in the development of trade policy,in promoting the liberalization of trade in services,we should pay attention to the coordinated development of trade in services and trade in goods.
