Research On Spare Parts Inventory Control In WL Company

Going through 87 years development,with extensive products for various industrial applications,China Chlor-Alkali Industry today is taking very important role for China economy growth and it is the biggest industrial cluster of the global Chlor-Alkali world.As a typical industry of flow type manufacturing,it has high risks in security management and is very complicated in equipment maintenance and process control.Spare parts management always plays an important role for every manufacturing industry.And it normally costs much higher especially for flow type manufacturing industries,which typically needs heavy investment and requests high production stability and continuity.The challenge is,we shall keep sufficient safety stock and in parallel control reasonable volume with minimum capital occupied.The purpose of this paper is aiming toward successful inventory control regarding spare parts especially for Chlor-Alkali companies.The study is based on research & analysis of today's warehouse management in Chlor-Alkali industry,and based on real cases and lessons learned from WL company daily operation.For the purpose to solve existing problems in WL company,spare parts are generally divided into two types,which are fast flow goods and slow flow goods.For each type,different spare part models are build and improved based on goods value management and its importance management.This paper provides detail study for each specific spare parts model,gives calculation method for order time,order cycle,secure inventory.Combined with the actual situation in WL company,the paper puts forward the Countermeasures of inventory control from the aspects of organization,system,process and capital,which ensures the effective implementation of inventory control,so that higher efficiency and lower cost of inventory management can be achieved.
