Objective:Studies have shown that, the severity of risk drinking on the crowd have reached a very serious level, the study of alcohol consumption abroad formed a more mature measuring method system. Many countries also have policies to limit consumption of alcohol and have achieved good social benefits. There is seldom study on measuring methods comparision of alcohol consumption in China.China is relatively weak in many aspects of alcohol consumption policy compared to other countries.Especially with regard to taxation, prohibit the sale of wine to minors, alcohol supply and marketing strategy of the licensing system etc. This study will provide some reference for the in-depth research and application of alcohol consumption measuring methods. In order to finally determine the actual situation of China's measuring method system,as accurately as possible to reflect the reality of alcohol consumption.According to the results of the study,it's helpful for the government and the relevant departments to take appropriate preventive interventions on reducing the harmful drinking to improve the health of the population by providing a useful reference based on the results of the control of harmful drinking recommendations. Methods:A total of 574 participants identified as Miao,Yi and Han People who are 12 years old and older and had been living there for at least 6 months were selected from 5 townships in the county through stratified sampling.Basic information of residents, the surrounding drinking environment are collected and the four kinds of measuring methods of drinking are applied to collect alcohol consumption information.Results:Industry-made spirits and beer are two major alcoholic beverages consumed by the study population. The proportion of drinking industry-made spirits measured by BSQF,tri-level,L7D and BSY are 35.71%,28.75%,22.47%and 18.64%,respectively while the beer are 17.42%,6.62%,3.66%and 1.92%respectively.The volume of alcohol consumed by the population were converted into yearly consumption,BSQF method gets per capita annual alcohol intake of 4772.57g,followed by the tri-level method 3975.29g,the L7D method 3092.25g,BSY method 2693.67g.Among drinkers, the highest annual median of alcohol consumption per dinker is BSY method, followed by the L7D,tri-level and the BSQF.The median volume of daily alcohol intake for drinkers measured by BSY and L7D method was significantly greater than the tri-level and BSQF method, which is similar to the results of the related studies. The highest median per capita alcohol intake for drinkers in drinking day was tri-level,followed by the L7D,BSQF and BSY method, which was consistent with the results of the literature.According to international alcohol consumption monitoring and related hazard guidelines for the determination of harmful drinking standards, the proportion of harmful alcohol intake by BSQF,tri-level,L7D and BSY were 17.8%,13.6%,9.2%and 8.0%respectively.The number of drinkers in the family, undesirable drinking environment among friends, the longer the period of drinking and enculturation(?=0.083)could increase the likelihood of risky drinking.Risky drinking pattern is negatively associated with gender(??-2.101)and awareness of risky drinking among rural residents. In addition, outdoor alcoholic beverage advertising, better alcoholic beverage availability may also increase the possibility of excessive drinking. Conclusion:The BSQF method is more appropriate to apply in the survey per capita annual intake of alcohol. For drinkers, although recall bias is small measured by BSY and L7D methods, the two methods may miss drinkers who did not drink during the reference period, which were not suitable for per capita annual alcohol consumption measurement.Four methods have their own advantages and disadvantages in alcohol consumption measurement.Single method may not be able to fully reflect the actual drinking of the crowd,so combination of varied methods, may be more suitable for alcohol consumption measurement.By reducing the number of drinkers in the family, and preventing from undesirable drinking environment among friends and harmful drinking culture are important measures to control risky drinking behavior in terms of health promotion and education. These measures are crucial to prevent early onset of alcohol drinking among teenagers and to reduce risky drinking among middle aged and aged population. For the government,to strengthen the regulation of home brewed wine,to restrict alcohol purchase age and to forbid any kinds of alcohol advertisement in mass media are in line with the "Healthy China" strategic construction, need to focus on strengthening in the future.
