Since the beginning of 21 st century,knowledge economy has gradually become the mainstream of contemporary social economy with the development of science and technology and economic globalization.In period of knowledge economy,knowledge resources like intellectual capital(IC)have become one of the most important source of value creation and core competitiveness.However,only when the enterprises keep updating and complementing resource base can they gain sustainable competitive advantage.On the other side,the customers' personalized requirements are increasing.The emergence of value co-creation with customer provides a new way for resource acquisition and value growth of enterprises.In order to explore the impact of value co-creation with customer on enterprises performance and the role that intellectual capital(including human capital,structural capital and customer capital)plays in this process,the relation logic of concepts are explored according to the existing research findings and resource-based view,resource dependence theory and service-dominant logic.Next,the theoretical model of mechanism that how value co-creation with customer and intellectual capital influence enterprise performance was built.Then we designed the questionnaire based on the current measurement scales,348 valid questionnaires were collected from Xi'an,Beijing and Shenzhen through online and offline surveys.The SPSS Statistics 22.0 and Smart PLS 3.0 software were used in descriptive analysis,common method bias test,reliability test,validity test,structural equation model and mediating effect test.The results of empirical studies show that value co-creation with customer positively correlates with enterprise performance,human capital and customer capital,but it has no significant influence on structural capital.All the elements of intellectual capital,which are human capital,structural capital and customer capital,have significant positive influences on enterprise performance.Human capital and customer capital partially mediate the relationship between value co-creation with customer and enterprise performance.Based on the empirical results,we suggest that enterprises should adjust the traditional development concept and incorporate “service-dominant logic” into their strategy.Besides,the enterprises should pay more attention to the value co-creation with customer and try to learn from this process so as to enrich the intellectual capital.Whithin the enterprises,the management efficiency of intellectual capital should be improved.This paper is expected to provide new ideas and methods to resource acquisition and value growth,thus,the sustainable development of enterprises can be achieved.
