Reflections And Strategies On The Development Of New Energy Vehicles In Mianyang

As the Chinese economy grows fast and people's living standards improve continuously,the automobile industry has become an important pillar of the national economy.Private cars are no longer luxuries but affordable for most of the Chinese ordinary families,facilitating people's traveling and expanding the living space.However,excessive consumption of gasoline by traditional vehicles has caused problems such as energy shortage and environmental pollution.There is an urgent demand for developing new energy vehicles and reducing the dependency on petroleum,which requires the transformation and upgrading of China's automobile industry,in order to ensure energy security and environmental protection.The new energy vehicle industry has been emerging as a focus in the next round of global industrial competitions,which reflects the scientific and technological capability of a country.The early development of new energy vehicles was pioneered by the United of States,Japan and Europe since the1960 s.These countries have accumulated a wealth of practical experience.China launched the research on new energy vehicles in the early 21 st century.After more than a decade of development,China has made substantial progress in the key technologies,and is ready for scaled production of new energy vehicles.Mianyang is China's only science and technology city with good industrial resources and outstanding research and development ability.The new energy vehicle industry has been named by the Mianyang municipal government as one of the high-end growth-oriented industries that would be cultivated and developed with great importance attached to.This thesis first explained the definition and classification of new energy vehicles,analyzed the advantages and disadvantages of different types of new energy vehicles,and reviewed the background for the development of new energy vehicle industry.Then,the current development status of new energy vehicles at home and abroad and the related advanced experiences were summarized.And,PEST and SWOT analyses of the development of new energyvehicles in Mianyang were performed.Based on the advanced experience in above analyses and combined with the practices in Mianyang,this thesis proposed strategies and suggestions on the development of new energy vehicles in Mianyang.
