Yutong New Energy Vehicle Development Strategy Research

At present the auto industry is faced with pressure of transformation due to shortage of energy supply,serious traffic congestion and deterioration of living environment.The issue of green energy has aroused public concern worldwide,which give rise to vehicle of low energy consumption and low carbon emission.To grasp such historical opportunity,either developed country or developing country has paid more and more attention to the new field,much R&Ds of new energy vehicle has been introduced and strengthened,supporting policy developed and implemented.In May 2015 Chinese government released “Made in China 2025” which put the new energy vehicles as a key development areas and give priority to energy conservation and environment protection.YUTONG is one of the earlier new energy vehicle producers in China.Since the first new energy bus was produced by the enterprise in 1999,several technical breakthrough has been made in core area of new energy bus technological domain.YUTONG is also one of the first exporters of the passenger vehicle and accounts for about one fifths of total in China.China is still challenged in the area of new energy vehicle development although the industry is prosperous in the future.There are a number of problems such as scarcity of relevant infrastructure,high production cost and lack of core technology which impede its development now.As a significant player,YUTONG cannot get rid of all of those troubles.Comparing with traditional auto industry,however,more opportunities and lesser gap between economies in the new energy auto area will favor every country including developing ones.Based on such considerations,the article analyses both advantages and disadvantages,as well as opportunities and threats that YUTONG faces in the process of new energy auto development.For YUTONG,new energy bus production is one of the primary businesses now and will be one of the main targets in the future.Accordingly YUTONG take the new area as its future strategy.How to enhance its strength and avoid its weakness,how to implement appropriate development strategy and put it as a new driving power,are first priority of the enterprise.By using SWOT method,the article makes an analysis on its development strategies and makes clear the measures YUTONG should take to develop the new project.Since new energy auto is reformation of whole auto industry,appropriate government intervention is necessary.The article points out several supporting measures the government should give to guarantee YUTONG's progress in its new energy vehicle business.
