Investment, trade and consumption as "three carriages" of the economic growth in a country, has been proved by the theory and practice of economic growth in different countries. The development of trade plays an important role in promoting a country's economic growth, especially for developing countries, and the trade is regarded as the “engine” of economic growth in a country.Export oriented strategy has become a trade strategy for most developing countries.Since the reform and opening up,China's trade and economic growth has been growed rapidly and created the “The Chinese miracle" because of the export oriented strategy.Export oriented not only promoted China's rapid economic growth, but also greatly promoted the continued expansion of industrial capacity.Since the medium term of 1990 s,China's industrial capacity has been showing a surplus state.Since the international financial crisis in 2008,with the rapid decline in domestic and international demand,China's industrial overcapacity problem has been highlighted. It is of great theoretical and practical significance to find out the reasons for the problem of overcapacity in the industry.First of all, based on the collection and summary of relevant literature, this paper using the related theory of foreign trade, industrial development and economic growth, expounds the relation between foreign trade and economic growth and industrialization in theory;Secondly, this paper uses the industrial sales value, the original value of fixed assets and export delivery value to summarize and analyse comprehensively China's export trade and productivity change situation since 1990 s,the results shows that the productivity growth in China's industrial and foreign demand are showing rapid growth in most years, but since the 2008 international financial crisis showed slower growth or even negative growth;Thirdly, this paper using DEA method, calculate the industrial capacity utilization rate of China's industry, the results shows that after the international financial crisis in 2008,most industrial in China is overcapacity; Finally,on the basis of previous research,in the manufacturing industry as an example, according to the relevant data of 2001-2015,using the panel data regression method, further analysis of export impact on our country's industrial overcapacity, the results shows that the long-term and single strategy of export oriented is an important factor affecting China's industrial overcapacity.
