With the global competition and the uncertainty of the market increased,more and more enterprises have paid attention to internal entrepreneurship characterized by strategic revolution,continuous innovation,creating a new career and so on.Middle managers,as the main participants and implementers,play irreplaceable roles in carrying out internal business and conducting business strategy.Thus come the questions: does a middle manager with different personality traits has an impact on internal entrepreneurship? If so,how does the overt narcissism of middle managers influence the internal entrepreneurship? This paper mainly focuses on the internal entrepreneurship of middle managers with the personality traits of overt narcissism to reveal its mechanism.Based on the theory of corporate entrepreneurship and self-construction,this paper introduces organizational self-esteem and impression management as intermediary variables,deeply discusses internal influence mechanism of entrepreneurial behavior of the narcissistic middle managers,especially the middle managers with the personality trait of overt narcissism.Therefore,this thesis firstly combs and sorts the related theories,then defines the concepts of overt narcissism,organization self-esteem,impression management and middle managers' internal entrepreneurship.Secondly,as intermediary variables,impression management and organizational self-esteem are introduced into the conceptual framework of this thesis and then the research hypotheses are put forward.Finally,the Sojump and questionnaire survey method are used to collect data and then SPSS20.0 is used to implement related processing,such as descriptive statistics,reliability and validity analysis,regression analysis and other methods to verify previous hypotheses.The empirical results show that:(1)the overt narcissism of middle manager is positively correlated with internal entrepreneurship;(2)the overt narcissism of middle manager is positively correlated with organizational self-esteem and impression management;(3)both the organizational self-esteem and impression management are positively correlated with internal entrepreneurship;(4)the organizational self-esteem and impression management act as intermediary between overt narcissism and internal entrepreneurship.The contribution of this paper is to explore the influence of the entrepreneur's personality traits on the internal entrepreneurial behavior,and to supplement and improve the existing theories.With introducing impression management and organizational self-esteem as intermediary variables,this thesis has expanded the framework model of middle manager's internal entrepreneurship.At the same time,in the field of management practice,the research of this paper also provides guidance for the establishment and implementation of company's entrepreneurial strategy in China.Executives need to strengthen the entrepreneurial care at all levels within the company,especially for middle managers,so as to stimulate their entrepreneurial behavior and create more value for the corporate.
