Research On Scale Efficiency And Its Influence Factors Of Property Insurance Companies In China

Since recovery insurance business,China's insurance industry has been rapid development,property insurance for individuals,families and enterprises and even the society as a whole has played a vital role.For the development of Chinese insurance companies,accession to the WTO is both an opportunity but also a challenge,with the foreign property insurance company to enter,property insurance market competition is more intense than before,Chinese property insurance company can through the competition to learn their advanced management experience and technology of insurance.Efficiency is one of the important research object in economics,the scale efficiency of property insurance company can reflect the company's resource utilization degree,the level of input and output,the core competitiveness and whether can sustainable development.This paper selected the five years from 2010 to 2014 the national 27 Chinese property insurance company and 17 foreign property insurance company of the relevant economic data,by using data envelopment analysis(DEA)to measure scale efficiency of insurance companies in our country,and by using Tobit regression model on the influencing factors of our country insurance company scale efficiency were studied.In this paper,the main structure is as follows: The first part introduces the selected topic background and significance,domestic and foreign literature review;The second part introduces in detail the data envelopment analysis(DEA),economies of scale and input-output theory;The third part mainly introduces the general insurance company in our country development present situation and the existing problems;the fourth part focuses on analyzing the scale efficiency of insurance company in China,and compared with the size of the foreign insurance company efficiency;The fifth part is on the basis of the fourth part,using Tobit model was carried out on the factors that influence efficiency of our country insurance company scale regression analysis;The last part of this paper introduces the measures to improve the efficiency of our country insurance company scale and advice.The results showed that:(1)Overall,property insurance in our country insurance company of the low level of scale efficiency,different property insurance company has different scale efficiency,scale efficiency level remains to be further improved.(2)In terms of factors that influence efficiency of property insurance company scale: the company size and the cost level is reverse correlation between the scale efficiency,Risk management level and scale efficiency was positively related.
