| Since the concept of disruptive innovation was put forward by Christensen,it has been widely discussed.Because the disruptive innovation may bring great damage to the incumbents,and it can greatly change the pattern of the market,even redefine the existing market.Many managers of the incumbents expect to know the theory of disruptive innovation,so they can understand the trend of disruptive innovation.The primary goal of such trend is to hypothesize the possible disruptions caused by such innovations.This paper discuss the destructive innovation theory from the following four aspects:(1)On the basis of the proposed disruptive innovation producer equilibrium and the consumer equilibrium model,the destructive innovation is redefined as follows: an innovation which is expected to enter the relevant market,destroy the original market structure,in the process,the innovator can gain profits through the diffusion of technology;(2)this paper put forward the path model of destructive innovation from technology,products to the marketplace;(3)After the introduction of the basic theoretical framework,the paper analyzes the development of Zhejiang Meida for further study;(4)finally,this paper combined the results with case and model analysis,and made recommendations for such companies in China.The study of this paper explains why the incumbents failed after the devastating innovation appeared.Based on the Zhejiang Meida research shows that the success of a destructive innovation technology depends on the internal factors and the combined effects of external factors,a destructive innovation technology is not enough,with the technology,to identify the potentially destructive innovation,devote time and energy to do some research in order to bring a real destructive impact on the industry. |
