Mankind has entered the digital age and has left large amount of traces named digital footprint actively or passively in the process of interaction more frequent with internet,communication network and the internet of things.Digital footprint is the user's digital portraits,that is,the mapping of real world behaviors.Digital footprint has novel and unique value to study individual behaviors without researcher's involvement.Tourism scholars have tried to study the digital footprint,but they mainly focus on satisfaction and perception of tourism lacking of focus on spatial characters.This paper takes Xinjiang as a case to explore the spatial behavior patterns of tourists in Xinjiang and explores the role of Xinjiang's main tourist nodes based on the 1093 travels on Ctrip with social network analysis and cluster analysis.The study shows that the distribution of tourists in Xinjiang is wavy,taking Xinjiang as the core.At a distance of 2500-3500 KM and 4000-4500 KM in Xinjiang,there are two peaks respectively.Beijing and Guangdong are two peaks point in the valley area;tourists in Xinjiang Show seven kinds of spatial behavior: 20 days ring tour of Xinjiang,the essence of the North Xinjiang tour,L-shaped depth tour of south Xinjiang,Kanas depth tour,Urumqi depth tour,Yili Valley tour and the ring tour of north Xinjiang;from Xinjiang internal perspective these tour modes can be summarized as "Circular and single point-to-point pattern",stem and petal pattern,touring point-to-point mode and radiating hub;from the perspective of the source to destination,these tour modes can be summarized as regional tour,En-route and radiating hub and base camp;Xinjiang's main tourist nodes have six types of roles: full-featured node of Xinjiang,regional full-featured node,Primary tourism hub,secondary tourism hub,the main node and secondary node.In the future,Xinjiang needs to dig tourism potential of valley area deeply based on the consolidation of peak.Tourism planning should be strengthened and comprehensive tourism should be carried out.The functions of nodes should be strengthened and the competition mechanism between nodes should be improved.Finally,this paper also puts forward some research inspiration,including considering market and comprehensive tourism while composing tourism planning and attaching importance to regional cooperation mechanism and application of digital footprint in tourism research.
