Analysis Of The Problem Of Income Distribution Gap In Russia

Income distribution gap in Russia increased radically in the beginning of the transition from a state socialist system to a capitalist market economy.In the 2000 s,despite significant economic growth and decreases in levels of poverty,income inequality has remained persistently high and has even increased.Russia has made rapid progress over the past decade in reducing poverty and catching up with income levels in developed OECD countries.But until 2014,this improvement was mainly due to rising oil prices,rather than economic restructuring.This paper chooses the problem of income distribution gap in Russia as the research subject.Based on the analysis Russia's income distribution gap phenomena,its influence and reasons of expansion of income distribution gap,this paper puts forward countermeasures against the income distribution gap in Russia which have a great significance.The purpose of this paper is to consider the key inequality trends,and the limitations of the current inequality policies in contemporary Russia.At first,this paper reviews the key trends in income and other related forms of inequality Russia.Then it proceeds to consider the indirect and direct mechanisms of the expansion of income distribution gap in Russia and its influence on the economic growth and social development,and analyzes how the inequality of income distribution affects Russia's economic growth,social development and social stability at different stages.It also reveals the reasons of the expansion of the income distribution gap in Russia: the weakness of the income distribution mechanism,the economic liberalization and privatization,contemporary financial crisis and the unbalanced regional development.Based on the above statistics and analysis,this paper further puts forward the countermeasures and suggestions to narrow the income distribution gap in Russia: improvement of the tax system,reform of the pension system,raising of minimum wage,improvement of anti-corruption law etc.
