A Study Of The Influence And Measures Of Shanghai Free Trade Zone For Export Trade In Yangtze River Delta

In the year of 2013,China became the number one country for global commodity trade.Nevertheless,our country has not been an economic power nor a trade power until now.Domestically,we are still facing a test as for the Reform and Opening-up,so Shanghai Free Trade Zone emerges as the times demand.The trade zone mainly focuses on promoting the trade transformation and upgrading,enhancing the international shipping service ability,as well as innovating the trade regulation.Having the biggest development potential during the process of Reform and Opening-up,the Yangtze River Delta Area can make full use of its location advantage.So,it’s of great significance to study the influence and measures of Shanghai Free Trade Zone for Export Trade in Yangtze River Delta Area.Besides the introduction,the theories of international trade will be discussed at the beginning of this article.On the other hand,some relative study on the international trade,the trade gravity model and the facilitation of Shanghai Free Trade Zone will be deliberated.Secondly,the background of the establishment of Shanghai Free Trade Zone,the general situation of different partitions and the revolution measures taken place in the trade zone will be introduced in details.And also,the opportunity brought by the trade zone will be analyzed then.Thirdly,the export trade in the Yangtze River Delta Area will be introduced in three aspects,that is,the overall situation,the export trade structure and the competition strength.With the help of the trade gravity model and some concrete evidences,the author researches the export trade in Yangtze River Delta Area from 2007 to 2014.It shows that the main factors promoting the Yangtze River Delta Area’s export trade are bilateral economic scales,the direct investment growth rate of the foreign businessmen,the trade competition index,the establishment of Shanghai Free Trade Zone,and the signature of the regional trade agreement.Meanwhile,the Yangtze River Delta Area’s export trade is inhibited by the increasing rate of the trade partners’ average gross national product,the bilateral distance and the tariff provided by the trade partners.After making a budget for the trade potential of the Yangtze River Delta Area’s trade partner,the author found that there exists a quite close relationship between the Yangtze River Delta Area and other countries or regions,which holds a vast development potential.However,the delta area still needs to enlarge the trade category.At the same time,making a comparison of the trade potential about the main trade partners from 2011 to 2014.The result shows that the establishment of Shanghai Free Trade Zone has optimized the export situation.Last but not least,basing on the influence of Shanghai Free Trade Zone,the author tries to make a conclusion on the concrete evidence and puts forwards some suggestions on the development of the Yangtze River Delta Area.
