In the development of human history,the city is the symbol of the maturity of human civilization and inherits the history and culture of mankind.Nowadays,the city is an important support for the development of a region.In the process of regional development,the importance of cities becomes increasingly prominent,and the competition between cities is increasingly fierce.In the competition between cities,the city image is a very import-ant factor.The city image shows the city's level of development,civilization and spirit,which is the largest intangible asset in a city.The city subway is an important transportation vehicle in the city,and plays an important role in the public transportation and city life.McLuhan once said that the medium is an extension of man.As an extension of human feet,the subway is actually a kind of media.In research perspective of this article,the author embarks from the theory of Marshall McLuhan "medium",the subway is no longer just as a traffic tool,also as a city message,shaping the image of the city of "medium".In the perspective of urban communication,urban physical space has always played an important role."Architecture is the medium",and urban physical Spaces such as museums and squares exist as "media platforms" for communication.As the physical space of urban transportation,the subway also plays the role of "media",inheriting urban culture,promoting urban development,displaying urban civilization,and thus shaping the image of the city.In this paper,the case study method is adopted to study the localization of Hefei Metro Line 1.From the perspective of media,through field investigation of Hefei Metro Line 1,combined with the subway passengers' participatory interviews,etc.,hefei as "medium" metro is how to shape of hefei city image and shaped what image of the city.The main research contents of this paper are divided into the following parts:The first chapter explains why the subway is a "medium",from "transportation"to "communication",combs the development of the subway at home and abroad,analyzes the attributes of the subway as a means of transport,the subway from the means of transport to the media Evolution and how the subway as a medium of communication city information,shaping the image of the city.The second chapter discusses the subway as a cultural landscape,discusses how Hefei Metro Line 1 as a medium to inherit the city's culture,shaping Hefei's urban cultural image.Based on the history of the ancient city and the charming new city,this paper analyzes the role of the subway in the cultural inheritance of the city from the aspects of subway station naming,the art in the subway and the new appearance of the city in the subway.The third chapter discusses the subway is as a commercial platform,showing that Hefei Metro Line 1 as the media how to promote the development of urban commercial,shaping the city's new economic image,become a beautiful card of city promotion.Hefei Metro Line 1 derived from the passage of the subway economy,subway property,the emergence of the metro area and greatly expanded the living area of Hefei residents,extending Hefei's urban space,changing the overall business structure in Hefei,and shaping Hefei multi-center city commercial image.The fourth chapter discusses the metro as a hub of information convergence,and aims to show how Hefei Metro Line 1 as a medium can become a new space for shaping the city's image.Metro space is a platform for gathering information on the city.The mass media in the subway and the interpersonal communication in the subway also transmit the information on the city of Hefei.To some extent,it shapes and spreads the city image of Hefei.To sum up,the conclusion of this paper is:Hefei Metro Line 1 not only exists as a means of transport,but also as a media to shape the city of Hefei image.While changing the physical space of urban transportation,the construction of Hefei Metro Line 1 also transmits Hefei's diversified urban information as a medium to shape the urban image of Hefei.Specifically as a cultural landscape,Hefei Metro Line 1 heritage of the city's history and culture,highlighting the city's memory,shaping the city's historical and cultural image;as a commercial platform,Hefei Metro Line 1 derived from the subway economy,expanding Urban development space,stimulating the city's commercial development,changing the city's business landscape,shaping the city's new economic image;as the hub of information exchange,Hefei Metro Line 1 is shaping the city's new space.From scratch,Hefei Metro Line 1 transmits the city information through the mass media,Hefei city image spread to different groups of people,especially urban foreigners;Hefei subway passenger's words and deeds,virtually every move has become a microcosm of urban civilization,Spreading Hefei urban civilization and fashion.Therefore,at the same time that the construction of the subway in Hefei continues to be carried out,its properties of "media" are also increasingly enhanced and become the most powerful carrier in shaping Hefei's city image.
