Impacts Of Chinese Guanxi Governance On The Environmental Adaptability Of International Chinese Contractors

In the context of strong national policy support,nowadays,Chinese international engineering contractor business has grown,international engineering performance has also been much attention.However,in recent years,engineering reports there are some phenomenon that the strength level of multinational contractors strength level do not match the construction results,the adaptability of some of the strong international contractor in the overseas market is not good.The reason of this phenomenon is that multinational contractors are lack of understanding of the " Chinese guanxi governance," which with distinctive Chinese culture in business contacts,ignoring the the role of whom in the international engineering cooperation.In view of this,the objectives of this paper are as follows:1)To explore the connotation of "Chinese guanxi governance"and the dimension division,explore the factors that affect the contractor's adaptability on the basis of analyzing the adaptability of international engineering contractor;2)to construct the theoretical research framework of the influence of "Chinese guanxi governance" on contractor's adaptability,analyze the influence of "Chinese guanxi governance" on contractor's adaptability in international market,and discuss the role of the complexity of international environment;3)How to properly and rationally use the "Chinese guanxi management" approach to improve the contractor's overseas resilience.At present,in the field of international engineering,the research about "Chinese guanxi governance"and contractor's adaptability are scarce.This study first adopts the grounded theory research method,establishes the influence path of the international contractor's adaptability,make "guanxi governance" as a four-dimensional model that includes" ganqing "," renqing "," trust "," communication ".Secondly,on the basis of transaction cost theory and social exchange theory,this paper analyzes the effect of "guanxi governance" on the adaptability of international engineering contractors and the regulation of the complexity of international environment on the relationship between the two,and puts forward eight research hypotheses.In this study,85 valid questionnaires were collected by Chinese international engineering contractor.Analyzed and tested by multiple linear regression method,it is verified that the four dimensions of "guanxi governance" have positive effects on the adaptability of international engineering contractors,and support the hypothesis H1,H2,H3,H4;At the same time,it is also proved that the low complexity of international environment has a positive effect on the relationship between "renqing" and contractor's adaptability,and the relationship between "trust" and contractor's adaptability,and supports the hypothesis H6 and H7.Based on the background of international engineering contracting industry,this paper analyzes the mechanism of "guanxi governance" to the contractor's international environmental adaptability,which is an important supplement to the research content of the academic field.At the same time,To adapt to the international contract market to provide a scientific theory and decision support.
