Under the environment of economic globalization of science and technology,implementation to open,cooperation and sharing of innovation model was proved to be effectively important way to improve the efficiency of innovation.Patent cooperation,standard alliance and acquisition of mergers and acquisitions to form the social network to improve enterprise's ability to learn,knowledge absorptive capacity and innovation performance received extensive attention of experts.Scholars at home and abroad have fully studied the influence factors on innovation performance through different dimensions,such as the stock of knowledge base,knowledge base structure,cooperative R&D network location.But few studies have few focused on combination influence of the enterprise internal knowledge base structure and the external network on the innovation output,and paid little attention to the influence of the enterprise internal knowledge base structure and partner knowledge base structure difference on innovation output,and the conclusions are not the same.In order to better explain influence mechanism of the enterprise knowledge base,external network location and partners knowledge base in cooperative R&D networks on innovation output,the paper discussed the internal knowledge structure,network location,partners knowledge base structure and its interaction impact on innovation output.On the basis of existing research,we divided knowledge base is into two dimensions,stock and structure.We analyze the impact of diversity of knowledge base and the density of knowledge base on innovation output.Internal knowledge base determines the absorption ability of the enterprise,network location decides the opportunity to gain knowledge,and the knowledge base of the partners decides the possibility of heterogeneous knowledge obtaining and internal knowledge base improvement.It is a combination of all three differences lead to innovation performance.So,based on 1999-2010 patent data for the automobile industry and the negative-binomial mixed-effect models,we show the influence of internal knowledge base structure,the network location,partners knowledge base structure on innovation output,and analyze regulating effect of the network location and partners knowledge base structure.The empirical analysis show that the diversification of knowledge base is positively associated with innovation output while its networking is negatively correlated with innovation output.The innovation output is positively related to degree centrality and structural hole.The higher degree of diversification of knowledge base and the lower network density of R&D cooperator is,the higher the innovation output will be.We find that the degree centrality negatively moderate the relationship between the focal firm's knowledge base diversification and its innovation output while the moderating effect for focal firm's knowledge base networking and its innovation output is unconspicuous.Structural hole positively moderate the relationship between the focal firm's knowledge base diversification and its innovation output while the moderating effect for focal firm's knowledge base networking and its innovation output is negative.It is also evidenced that the diversification of R&D partners' knowledge base positively moderate the relationship between the focal firm's knowledge base diversification and its innovation output while the moderating effect for focal firm's knowledge base networking and its innovation output is negative.The networking of R&D partners' knowledge base positively moderate the relationship between the focal firm's knowledge base networking and its innovation output while the moderating effect for the focal firm's knowledge base diversification and its innovation output is negative.According to the results of this study,we can find that if the enterprise wants to shape a powerful competitive advantage technology,on the one hand,it needs to build a moderate internal knowledge base according to the diversity and density.On the other hand,by actively establish or end the relationship with other members in the network,selecting the matching network location with its own knowledge background,so as to realize innovation output.At the same time,enterprises need have full understanding of the partners knowledge,the diversification and density differentiation between themselves and their partners.Partner with mutual configuration have reinforcement effect,and heterogeneous partnership has inhibition effect.
