Because of its extensive industry penetration,the Internet of Things is known as the third wave of information technology after the computer and the Internet,and has attracted more and more attention from governments,business and academia.However,due to the general lack of industry standards,the development of Internet of things generally shows disorderly state of competition.The Internet of Things technology system is divided into three levels:the perception layer,the transport layer and the application layer.On the one hand,in recent years,due to the continuous improvement of technology,represented by RFID tags and sensors,the hardware usage cost of the sensing layer is decreasing,which provides an opportunity for the rapid development of the Internet of Things industry.On the other hand,due to the characteristics of the Internet of Things technology system,the Internet of Things business model will be a very important strategic means adopted by the Internet of things enterprises in the future.So in order to deal with the current status of the industry,while in the future development of the industry to obtain the first mover advantage,at present,,it will be of great significance to explore a number of innovative strategies for the Internet of Things enterprises based on the Internet of Things platform.Millet technology was originally a mobile phone manufacturer,based on Android system for secondary development.Later,due to the needs of strategic transformation,as well as for the grasp of the Internet of things industry,it gradually developed into a combination of hardware and software networking enterprises.Therefore,this paper,making use of case analysis methods,through the successful transformation of millet technology case,studies the transformation path of traditional manufacturing enterprises in China through the Internet of Things,and analyzes the important innovation strategies in the process of transformation.The results show that millet technology through two strategic initiatives,which one is the continuous research of hardware and software products,the other one is the business incubator,establishes a smart home ecosystem,and creates differentiated competitive advantages for products and services.More importantly,millet technology has reshaped the internal organizational structure to adapt to the new business and corporate competitive strategy needs,which fundamentally achieves a breakthrough in the transition.Finally,based on the results of the case study and the present situation of the traditional manufacturing enterprises in China,this paper draws lessons from transformation experience of millet technology,and provides a systematic solution for the changes of the internal organization form of the traditional manufacturing enterprises in China,which will provide a reference to the innovation of organization form for the transformation of traditional manufacturing enterprises in China.
