Research On The Influence Of The Importation Of Producer Services On The Quality Of China’s Manufacturing Export Products

Over the past decade,industrial producer services have been the fastest growing sector in the world economy.In 2015,service sector accounted for 70%of the world’s added value,becoming a hot spot for global foreign direct investment.The proportion of stock of foreign direct investment in producer services rose from 58%in 2001 to 63%in 2012,almost 2.5 times the proportion of manufacturing(26%),9 times the proportion of the first industry(7%),and this ratio is expected to continue to rise.Since the adoption of reform and opening-up policy,China has become the world’s factories,The rapid development of China’s economy is attribute to the entry of foreign-funded enterprises and foreign investment,especially since 2001 when China made its accession to the WTO.The commodity economy and export economy of our country have experienced unprecedented development and foreign trade scale growth rapid.In recent years,the rise in production costs caused by the continuous consumption of environment and resources and the aging of the population structure makes our country ’s obvious advantages in the international trade market have ceased to exist,China’s extensive economic development model is difficult to sustain,the adjustment and transformation of industrial structure is imminent.For export trade,how to get rid of low-end lock and improve the export competitiveness of products are severe tests all export-oriented enterprises need to be faced under this new economy state,Firstly,this paper has used Feenstra and Hanson(1999)[1]’s model to measure the import of productive services in different sectors of China’s 15 manufacturing industries from 2000 to 2013.And then according to Schott and Hallak(2011)[2]’s paper,we have analysised of China’s 15 manufacturing export product quality index and the technical complexity of export products between 2000 and 2003.Based on the empirical analysis we find(1)the result shows that the import of producer services can improve the quality of our country’s exports significantly.(2)Further research indicates that different producer service shows different to improving the quality of export.Among them.Finally,based on the empirical results,this paper puts forward three policy suggestions.First,China’s productive service still needs a lot of imports and in some producer services still exist import restrictions,the government can expand the market to a certain extent.Second,the government can provide some preferential policies for enterprises that import productive services.Third,enterprises should make full use of the spillover effect of the import of producer services to improve the capability of independent research and development.
