| Retailing is an important part of Chinese National economy,which play a key role in the industrial transformation and upgrading,consumption transformation and domestic demand expansion,resources optimization allocation,employment promotion and rapid economic growth.Retailing is most widely used by Internet technologies especially the mobile Internet technology,which is profoundly reshaping Chinese retailing development pattern,affecting the efficiency of China’s retail industry,and having a far-reaching influence.This article is based on the characters of the mobile Internet,regarded as technology innovation.From two aspects of technical efficiency and scale efficiency,it studies the influence of the mobile Internet on retailing efficiency by combining with the supply side and demand side.On the one hand,the mobile Internet enhances the purely technical efficiency of the retail industry,by changing retail technology,upgrading the level of retail business management and optimizing retail industry structure.On the other hand,the mobile Internet enhances the scale of retail efficiency,by expanding the size of the retail business and the industry to trigger the internal economies of scale and external economies of scale.The combined effect of the two effects has led the retail industry to achieve growth in both quality and quantity,further enhancing the retail efficiency(comprehensive technical efficiency).Based on the impact of mobile internet on the efficiency of retail efficiency,firstly,this paper uses the data envelopment analysis(DEA)and the provincial panel data to measure the efficiency of retail industry,and analyzes the efficiency of the retail industry from three aspects of country,every proivince and the different development area of mobile Internet.Secondly,we use Tobit regression model to explore the impact of mobile Internet on retail efficiency(comprehensive technical efficiency),and then we try to verify the technology effect and economies of scale.At last,we explore the impact of mobile Internet on retail efficiency based on the different development area of mobile Internet.The findings are as follows:Firstly,the mobile Internet has a significant positive effect on improving the retail efficiency.Secondly,the mobile Internet also plays a significant role in improving the purely technical efficiency and the scale efficiency of the retail industry.The technological effect of the mobile Internet seems to be better than the scale effect.Thirdly,the impact of the development of mobile Internet on the efficiency of China’s retail industry is mainly concentrated in areas with a high degree of development of the mobile Internet,while the impact of the development of mobile Internet on areas with low development of mobile Internet The retail efficiency did not have a significant impact.In the end,on the basis of summarizing the mechanism research and empirical analysis,to put forward policy recommendations and outlook. |
