The logistics industry of China has developed particularly rapid in recent years due to the popularity of the Internet and the emergence of online shopping.The role of logistics industry is obvious,which plays an important part in promoting economic development.With the continuous development of economy,the regionalization of the economy has become increasingly evident,leading to a growing relationship between the development of regional logistics and regional economic growth.Moreover,the role and the relation of regional logistics and regional economic growth will show diverse forms in different development stages and different regions.A series of questions on correlations between logistics and economic growth are worth our in-depth research and analysis,including the questions about how the logistics industry affects the economy and what kind of mechanism influences economic growth,etc.The role of regional logistics for regional economic growth is self-evident.As a product of social specialization,logistics industry will inevitably become one of the driving forces of economic growth from the perspective of labor division theory,together with other influencing factors such as capital accumulation and technological progress to promote economic growth.Moreover,the development of logistics requires a large amount of laborers,especially at the terminal of logistics services,so that the development of logistics will lead to the accumulation of human capital,which will greatly promote economic growth.It can be demonstrated from the theory of Neoclassical Growth and New Economic Growth.As requirements of high-tech to support the modern logistics systemization and cargo transportation,it is inevitable to absorb and develop high-tech technologies in the course of logistics development.Therefore,the logistics industry is not only a labor-intensive industry,but also a technology-intensive industry.Thus,its development will,to a certain extent,result in the accumulation of technology and human capital,which has a certain role in promoting the growth of the regional economy.The areas with developed logistics possess relatively complete transportation facilities,which are one of the important criteria for the investment environment.Therefore,the development of logistics will,to a certain extent,improve the investment environment in the region.The attractiveness of foreignenterprises brings the increasing input of external funds,while the external capital investment can promote regional economic growth,to some extent.The growth of logistics to the economy can be embodied in six aspects: the optimization of industrial structure,the reduction of transaction costs,the improvement of the regional investment environment,the promotion of the inflow of external capital,the accumulation of human capital,and the changes of economic growth mode.These six aspects are all factors that affect economic growth,so the development of logistics will inevitably promote economic growth.From the analysis of the status quo in the three cities of Guangzhou,Shenzhen and Dongguan(hereinafter three cities for short),we can know that how the development of logistics play a catalytic role in economic growth in real economic activities.The development of the logistics industry is beneficial to the economic growth of Guangzhou,Shenzhen and Dongguan to a certain extent.Because of its inherent geographical advantages,the logistics industry is relatively developed,and the development of the logistics industry has not only increased directly.The value of GDP in this region has also led to the development of related industries,which has contributed to the growth of the regional economy.Through the empirical analysis of three cities of Guangzhou,Shenzhen and Dongguan,we can see that the development of logistics will promote the economic growth,but if the logistics industry is not planned scientifically,of which promoting effect on economic growth will not follow.That is,the economic growths will not show greater promotion with the growth of logistics industry.Therefore,scientific planning for the logistics industry should be made and the role of logistics should be given full play,thus a better promoting economic development.The development of scientific planning logistics can be started from the following aspects.Firstly,increase the investment in logistics infrastructure to improve the logistics development environment.Apparently,when the investment is increased,attention to the practicality of input should be paid,a blind investment must avoid causing the repeated construction.Secondly,the establishment of a logistics network;effectively link the existing logistics nodes to form a logistics network,so as to exert its scale effect.Thirdly,establish a logistics information sharing platform to connect existing logistics companies and achieve information sharing.Fourthly,the relevant government departments can providecorresponding policy support for the development of logistics according to local conditions,thus providing a favorable policy environment for the development of logistics.
