In 2016,the maize planting area in Yunnan province reached 1 million 717 thousand and 700 hectares, and the output reached 9 million 196 thousand and 400 tons.Maize became the first crop and the total output second of Yunnan province.Corn insurance has become an important factor in stabilizing the production of Maize in Yunnan province and promoting the development of agriculture in Yunnan province. At present, corn insurance in Yunnan province is mainly based on traditional planting insurance, which is mainly based on materialized cost, which can not guarantee the risk of output caused by drought, floods and other factors, and the price risk caused by imbalance between market supply and demand. The corn income insurance has the dual advantages of ensuring the output risk and price risk of agricultural products. It helps farmers disperse the risk of agriculture to a greater extent, reduce the agricultural losses in Yunnan and improve the safety and productivity of agriculture. In this paper, through the analysis of planting maize in Yunnan province of our country and the yield risk and price risk,to explore whether it has to carry out agricultural income insurance necessity and feasibility, and reference to the operation mechanism of American crop insurance income and product design experience for the design of corn in Yunnan province corn income insurance products. The core problem of designing corn income insurance products is rate determination. In this paper, the maize yield and price data in Yunnan province were fitted for 1978-2016 years, and the copula method was used to fit the joint distribution of corn yield and price, and the rate was determined by Monte Carlo simulation. The empirical analysis shows that the premium rate of corn income in Yunnan is not high, and the rate of 80%-90% is lower than that of the same level of corn production insurance.
