In the outbreak of World War ?,Navy Secretary Winston Churchill stepped in and invited the Labor Party to join the cabinet to form a British wartime coalition government. At this time, the British economy and society suffered heavy losses, and the unemployed population increased rapidly. To ease the situation of large-scale unemployment and maintain economic stability, timely adjustment of employment policies has become one of the important goals of the United Government of the United Kingdom during this period. Therefore, the employment policy has become one of the economic policies that the coalition government has focused on.The series of employment policies implemented by the coalition government during this period has played an important role in ensuring the smooth operation of the British economy and has laid the foundation for the post-war British employment policy. It shaped the basic model of post-war employment policy in the United Kingdom. This article takes the change of British employment policy in the 20 th century as the background, starting with the British government's concern about unemployment during World War I,through the background, development, changes, characteristics and evaluation of employment policies of the UK government's employment policy during World War ?.Several aspects are combed and analyzed. This paper is divided into six parts. The introduction part mainly introduces the significance of the thesis topic, the definition of the basic concepts of the thesis, the research summary at home and abroad, the main research contents and the important and innovative points of the thesis. The first chapter, starting from the employment situation faced by Britain before World War ?,reviewed the British government's policy on employment issues before the Second World War.This chapter details the concerns of the British government on unemployment during World War I.It compares the concerns of the joint government of the World War ? era with employment and the corresponding countermeasures. It shows the evolution of the UK government's employment issue from World War I toWorld War ?.The development of government employment policies. The second chapter elaborates the exploration of the employment policy of the United Kingdom government during World War ?.This chapter discusses the major economic policies of the coalition government in the process of exploring employment policies.By describing the disputes over employment policies between several departments such as the Ministry of Finance and the Economic Services Department of the United Government of Britain,we analyzed the fiscal policies, welfare policies, and labor policies that the coalition government has adopted to solve employment problems. For example, the coalition government has solved Britain's unemployment shock by weakening inflation, stabilizing British wages through social security policies, and regulating employment levels in different regions through labor policies, thereby stabilizing Britain's employment level. The third chapter discusses British employment policy during World War ? from a vertical perspective. This chapter closely describes the content of the second chapter and describes the further development and improvement of the UK employment policy during this period. This chapter reviews the historical facts from the 1942 Beveridge Report and the publication of the Employment White Paper in 1944.It is well known that the Beveridge Report and the Employment White Paper are of great significance to the development of the British economy. It shows that the British Coalition Government is Employment intervention is even more powerful.By describing the development of the UK employment policy in Chapters 3 and 2,the paper consistently describes the overall development of the UK employment policy during World War ?.The fourth chapter focuses on relevant economic theories that affect the UK employment policy. The liberal economic theory of the 1920 s and the Keynesian ideological theory of the 1940 s all had an impact on the development of the UK's employment policy. In particular, the Keynesian economic theory exerted a great influence on the employment policy during the coalition government. It symbolized the British government.Began to adjust the employment policy to effectively intervene in the British economy.Chapter V evaluates and summarizes the joint government employment policy during World War ?.This chapter starts with the characteristics, impacts, and problems of the UK employment policy during the coalition government, and makes an overall analysis and evaluation of the UK government's employment policy. The employment policy of the coalition government has not yet formed a complete system.Although there are many restrictions on the employment policy during this period, they have made great contributions to the British victory in World War ?,and also depicted a blueprint for post-war British employment policy.During the World War ?,the British United Government implemented the full employment policy under the guidance of the Keynesian theory and used the state to intervene in the economy to regulate and stabilize domestic employment. This provided a large amount of labor for the development of the British economy and provided a victory for the war.Important manpower and material guarantees laid the foundation for the post-war employment policy in Britain.Overall, the British government's thinking and exploration on employment issues during the Second World War actually conformed to the British national conditions, effectively eased the economic crisis during the war,and laid the general direction of post-war British employment policy.
