Study On River-sea Logistics Of Yangtze River Delta

With the skyrocketing growth of China's foreign trade volume over the past ten years,the port industry has become one of the few profitable traditional industries.While the state-owned shipping enterprises are suffering financial losses,the state-owned port enterprises are reaping huge profits resulting in enormous expanding of the industry's capacity.This has led to an increased port throughput and modern infrastructures.However,with a shift in the trading style and growth model in China,the growth rate has slowed down and the negative impact on port industry is expected to appear next few years.The competition of the cargo is also expected to increase in near future.If the competition among the ports can keep its order and let the invisible,the waste of resources can be avoided,in other words,the allocation of resources will be more efficient and reasonable.The infrastructures and the soft environment-such as the sharing of information and the reference of experience,the cost of the logistics will be reduced and the overall competitiveness of the port clusters will be enhanced.The paper delves into the background,the functions,the positioning and the growth potential of various port hubs in Jiangsu,Zhejiang and Shanghai along the lower Yangtze River Delta along with the characteristic of monopolistic competition of ports,the theory of modern logistics engineering and the samples from domestic and foreign.Firstly,it combines DEA with Moran geographic analysis method to do quantitative analysis on the current situation of Yangtze River Delta Belt's river-ocean transportation and point out the overall logistics development efficiency,the variances and the evolutional pattern of different ports.Secondly,based on these researches,it raised three issues as the ambiguity of self-position and orientation,unreasonable mode of river-ocean transportation and lack of unified coordination mechanism.Finally,by referring the mode of river-ocean transportation between HK.Shenzhen and Guangzhou,this paper presented the solutions of above issues as find self-position and orientation,develop the river-ocean direct transportation bus and build a development association of combined transport in Yangtze River Delta.
