Energy is an important driving force for China's economic development,as well as the main constraints. In our country, due to the geographical environment, resources distribution and political factors, economic development is not balanced among provinces, municipalities or autonomous regions, the energy consumption there are also different from each other,so from the point of view of regional perspective research can more directly reflect the local law of development. In the development process of China's industrialization and urbanization, the growth and structural adjustment of energy consumption provides a strong guarantee for economic development. On the one hand,it is obvious that economic growth and international trade depend more on energy consumption;on the other hand, there has a certain restrictive for the development of China's economic growth and international trade because of the limited energy resources. The study of the relationship between energy consumption, economic growth and international trade makes the energy and economy develop together, which is conducive to different energy consumption characteristics of the region to implement differentiated management and complementary advantages, and has profound significance to the long-term strategy of sustainable development. From the beginning, the paper makes in-depth analysis on the definition and classification of energy consumption,as well as the relevant theory of energy consumption and economic development; On this basis, the paper divided 30 provinces, municipalities and autonomous districts into four types of regions by establishing panel cluster analysis from the point of consumption of energy products, and analyzes the characteristics of energy consumption in different regions. Then, examine the causal relationship between energy consumption, economic growth and international trade in four types of regions, and compare regional differences; Finally, analysis the dynamic relationship between energy consumption, economic growth and international trade based on the classification.According to the above empirical analysis,It can be concluded: First, the overall energy consumption of our country is in the forefront of the world, but the regional energy consumption is not uniform, the situation of energy consumption among the region is similar, energy product consumption in different regions has different emphases;Second, the causal relationship between energy consumption, economic growth and international trade has regional difference, but the promoting effect from energy consumption to economic growth and international trade is consistent; The difference of relationship between the regional energy consumption, economic growth and international trade shows that the influence from energy consumption to economic growth and international trade in high energy consumption area is not as obvious as other regions, the development of international trade will weaken the growth of energy consumption in a certain period of time in sub-high energy consumption area, the response intensity of energy consumption to economic growth in medium-low energy consumption area is higher than high energy consumption area in general, and the energy consumption can rapidly stimulate economic growth and international trade in low energy consumption area.
