Learning-by-exporting Effect Of High-tech Industries In China

With the development of research in international trade field,more and more scholars has begun to pay attention to the effect of export learning and done research from the national and the industry level.This paper attempts to explore the effect of export learning from the perspective of industry.Based on the data of Chinese industrial enterprises in 1998-2007,this paper explores the existence of export learning effect of high-tech industry.In the index selection,using the LP method to estimate TFP as the main explanatory variable,with the method of using ordinary OLS regression and panel data with fixed effects through the Hausman test results,this paper analyzes whether the export behavior of high tech industry enterprises w affect the whole enterprise factor productivity by regression analysis in the period of the 8 different years as the base periods respectively.This paper also verifies whether there is export choice effect in the export of high-tech enterprises in China.Based on the regression analysis,respectively,selected key variables lagged,using other indicators(including the dependent variable and the independent variables were changed by two methods)and from different ownership perspective to explore the learning effect of export and other methods for robustness analysis.The results show: the paper supports the existence of export self-selection effect.And the export of high-tech industrial enterprises for export,exports continued to start or stop TFP export enterprises,compared with before and after the two were not export enterprises,has a certain promoting effect,and the effect is not small,to prove the existence of the learning effect of export industry,and export the learning effect is positively correlated with the export scale.But it also found that China's high-tech industry export mechanism and learning effect is not through a large number of technology spillover,independent innovation and improve productivity,which may be caused by the method of management is to improve or improve the system environment and other factors to promote the improvement of productivity.Compared with foreign enterprises,the export learning effect is more obvious.Based on the above conclusions,some suggestions are given.
