China's economy has entered the new normal development stage, and the economy has changed from high-speed growth to high-speed growth. For a long time, economic growth has been driven by investment and factors, and economic growth has not been of high quality. In the process of the economy entering the new normal,China also faces the pressure of resources and the environment at the same time.In addition, the advantage of demographic dividends is also constantly disappearing. Therefore, relying on large-scale factor investment and investment to promote growth is not sustainable.Strengthening technological innovation and promoting the improvement of total factor productivity are the key to solving these problems.Industrial agglomeration plays an important role in improving the production efficiency of total factors.Industrial agglomeration can promote the improvement of total factor productivity by advancing technological progress and improving the allocation of resources. This paper selects provincial panel data of China's manufacturing industry from 2000 to 2016 to study the impact of China's manufacturing industry agglomeration on the growth of total factor productivity.First,on the basis of reviewing the relevant literature, the article analyzes the influence mechanism of industrial agglomeration on total factor productivity. Then we measured the level of specialization and diversification in China's manufacturing industry, and found that the degree of specialization in the eastern region of China is the highest, while the diversity in the central region is the highest. Then, using the DEA method to measure the total factor productivity and its components in various provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions in China,we found that the average annual growth rate of total factor productivity in China was 2.4% between 2000 and 2016.The total factor productivity growth in the eastern region was the highest, and the technology Progress is the key to promoting the improvement of total factor productivity. Finally, using the Hansen threshold model, the per capita GDP of proxy variables of economic development level is used as a threshold variable to study the threshold effect of diversified agglomeration and specializationon total factor productivity under different levels of economic development. The study found that:professional agglomeration helps to promote the improvement of total factor productivity. In different stages of economic development, the strength of this promotion will be different;and diversity agglomeration and total factor productivity have a positive "U" relationship. Finally, combining with the results of empirical analysis, this paper puts forward policy suggestions for improving the production efficiency of China's total factors.
