Research On The Impact Of Technology Diversification,Dynamic Capabilities On Ambidextrous Innovation

With the development of science and technology and the diversification of human needs,the “multi-technology” feature of products has become increasingly apparent.If an enterprise wants to win in an increasingly fierce market,it must continue to improve existing products or develop new products,while the development of complex products requires a number of complementary or related technologies.Therefore,more and more companies have recognized the need for technology diversification.The essence of technology diversification is the strategy of technological innovation.Enterprises often need higher external environmental adaptability when implementing technological diversification strategies.They need to be able to quickly identify external opportunities,actively coordinate the integration of internal and external resources,and quickly absorb external heterogeneity.Knowledge and develop new products.That is,companies need a strong dynamic capability when implementing a technology diversification strategy.At present,research on technology diversification at home and abroad has achieved relatively rich results.Some studies have empirically examined the effects of technological diversification on firm performance,but there is still no unified conclusion about the relationship between the two.In addition,existing researches do not distinguish the technology diversification and the innovation models,nor do they take into account the adjustment effect of the dynamic capacity.Based on this,the paper distinguishes the innovation model,verifies the impact of technological diversification on ambidextrous innovation and the regulatory role of dynamic capabilities.This paper examines the relevant theoretical foundations and related research status of technological diversification,ambidextrous innovation anddynamic capabilities,and proposes that technological diversification positively influences exploitative innovation,technological diversification,exploratory innovation and total innovation performance are inverted U-shaped,and dynamic capabilities are positively adjusted for technological diversification,ambidextrous innovation,and total innovation performance,and dynamic capabilities positively regulate technological diversification and ambidextrous innovation and total innovation performance.After that,the paper defines and measures the independent variables,dependent variables,regulated variables and control variables,and constructs a negative binomial regression model.The sample used in this paper is from the A-share listed company in the Chinese automobile industry.After filtering out the patent application data of 113 companies from 2006 to 2016,a total of 396 data sets of 66 companies from2011 to 2016 were used to validate the assumptions of this paper.The stata12.0 is used to perform empirical calculations on the 396 groups of panel data collected.The results are as follows: technological diversification is in an inverted U-shaped relationship with incremental innovation,aggressive innovation,and total innovation,the dynamic capability positively adjusts the relationship between technology diversification and exploitative innovation and total innovation performance.This assumption that dynamic capability positively adjusts technology diversity and exploratory innovation performance has not been verified.The possible explanation is that the sample companies have a wider range of technologies,but less radical innovations.This leads to a clear inverted U-shaped relationship between technological diversification and exploratory innovation,which makes it difficult to realize the positive adjustment of dynamic capabilities.In addition,the industry and the quantity of the sample will also have some influence on the results of the hypothesis test.Finally,based on the above conclusions,this paper suggests that companies must implement a technology diversification strategy,but the technical scope should not be too extensive;enterprises need to pay attention to their owndynamic capabilities to ensure the implementation of technology diversification strategy,and propose specific measures to improve dynamic capabilities.It is hoped that it can provide reference for Chinese companies to implement the technology diversification strategy.
