Research On Intangible Losses Of Safety Accidents Of Construction Enterprises

The safety accident of construction enterprises has brought tangible losses and intangible losses to the country,society,enterprises,workers and their family.Thus,the components and calculating methods of the accidental losses is a disappointed and frustrated problem in domestic and international theoretical and engineering field.However,after comprehensive analysis of existed research results,an obvious defect shows that many researchers focus on the study and quantification of tangible losses and neglect the study and quantification of intangible losses.Considering the serious impacts on the producing and earnings of construction enterprise,the definition,classification,components and quantification of intangible losses should become more theoretically and practically meaningful.Based on the classification frames of accident loss in domestic and international researches,integrated into the theories of safety economics,project management,psychology,enterprise management and economics,a framework was preliminary developed to analyze the intangible losses of safety accident in construction enterprise.Consulting the exited research results of intangible losses,we gave a definition of intangible losses,explained the connotation of intangible losses and probed into the classification of intangible losses though personnel and organization that the intangible losses could be sub-divided into personal intangible loss and organizational intangible loss.Through theoretical analysis and expert interviews,intangible sub-losses of safety accident were distinguished and summarized in construction site: personal intangible losses were sub-divided into personal psychological losses and personal competent losses which then were sub-divided though the job responsibility;organizational intangible losses were sub-divided into intangible losses inside of organization which then were analyzed though culture,technical competency and information and intangible losses outside of organization which then were analyzed though right,relation and reputation.Thus,based on above-mentioned study,the statistical frame of intangible losses on safety accident in construction enterprise was established.At last,a case was chosen to test the applicability of the frame.The bill can be used not only as the basic information of government safety regulatory efficiency analysis,also as the basis of enterprise safety management investment and performance analysis,so that the efficiency of government safety regulation can be improved,the effectiveness of enterprise safety management can be increased,and the sustainable development of the construction industry will be realized.
