The Classification And Assessment Of Geoheritage Resources In The Xingtai Canyon Group National Geopark In Hebei Provice

Xingtai Canyon Group National Geopark is located in the east of Taihang Mountain,southern Hebei Province.Strong tectonic movement,especially uplift of Taihang Mountain during the Quaternary Period,and the water erosion both conjointly created the crisscross grand canyon group,large-scale pothole system and the graceful waterfall landscapes.In addition,the typical and various sedimentary structures in the geopark honestly record the great change from sea to land in the past billion years.For protecting the geoheritage resources in the geopark,we investigate geoheritage resources intensively and assess them comprehensively.Results of assessment can provide a basis for planning and development of geoheritage resources and providing a guide for building a geopark.First of all,the author summarize the domestic and international geological heritage classification methods.Based on field investigations and the classification methods of technical requirements of the National Geological Park Planning which is amended one subcategories,the geoheritage resources in the Xingtai Canyon Group National Geopark are divided into six major categories,eight categories,ten subcategories and seventeen subclasses.Secondly,geoheritage resources of the Geopark were evaluated comprehensively.Comprehensive evaluation includes both qualitative and quantitative assessment.Qualitative evaluation of aesthetic ornamental value,scientific and popular science education value and the tourism development value were performed by describing the macroscopic characteristics of geoheritage resources in the geopark.Quantitative evaluation score for sixty four major geoheritage landscapes based on fuzzy assignment method,expert scoring method and analytic hierarchy process.By scoring,in Xingtai Canyon Group National Geopark,there are four national-class geoheritage landscapes,accounting for 6.25%;twenty eight provincial-class geoheritage landscapes,accounting for 43.75%,and thirty two regional-class geoheritage landscapes,acccounting for 50%.Finally,the evaluation results of Xingtai Canyon Group National Geopark were analyzed comprehensively.Based on the evaluation results,the geoheritage resources are precious,landscapes are typical and unique with high aesthetic value.In the process of construction of geopark,it's necessary to protect geological remains resources actively.Meanwhile,results of assessment can provide a basis for planning and development of geoheritage resources and providing a guide for building a geopark.
