Types Of Geoheritage And Evaluation In Dengkou Geopark, Inner Mongolia, China

Geoheritage is not only part of the historical and natural heritage, which has high value of research and culture learning, but also has great tourism value. It will be helpful for protecting and developing the natural heritage to construct geoparks. The construction and development of Dengkou Geopark can help the Dengkou County to get higher socioeconormic performance and protect the geoheritage resources. It will be a good place to take popular science education, and a case for ecological environment deterioration. It also leads the way to improve the ecological environment which has been destroyed.Dengkou Geopark locates in the western part of Inner Mongolia, the middle-up stream of the Yellow River. There are many types of geoheritage sights and geomorphology landscape in Dengkou Geopark. Due to their different causes of formation, the geoheritage sights are classified into 9 different types, they are tectonic geoheritage, intrusive rock geoheritage, karst caves, mineral springwater, canyons, the desert, lakes in the desert, the Yellow River, and some other geoheritage types. Almost all of the geoheritage types'causes of formation are analyzed in brief.Evaluation of the geoheritage tourist resources in Dengkou Geopark is made, which contains qualitative and quantitative analyses. In the qualitative evaluation, the types and combination of the geology remains, the schematism and integrality, the research value, tourism ornamental value and the socio-economic value, and some other aspects are referred. The Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP), the comprehensive evaluation mode and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method are generally used in quantitative evaluation. The total score of Dengkou Geopark is 7.916 points, falls into the second grade. And it will be feasible to build the Dengkou Geopark to be a provincial tourist attraction. It provides a theoretical advice for the programming and development of geoheritage tourist resources in Dengkou Geopark.With abundance of other historical heritage sights, Dengkou Geopark becomes a good comprehensive geopark. Based on the resoults of qualitative and quantitative evaluation, development ways of Dengkou Geopark are proposed. The development mode contains methods such as divide the park into areas with different typical sights, build more service constructions, do more scientific research and develop an information system, and so on.
