Since the "Maritime power" strategy is initiated,the development of coastal large cities needs to consider the environment of the coastal zone,and therefore this study on how to monitor and assess coastal beaches is definitely essential.However,the acquisition of basic geographic information on coastal landscapes and beaches is quite difficult,and the conventional methods such as aerial remote sensing and satellite photographs are unable to collect high-resolution coastal data.Therefore,this thesis will develop coastal monitoring technology based on the ARGUS system method.In this study,the Chudao Island in Weihai Citiy has been selected as a research site,and installed a new ARGUS system to collect field data on coastal beaches.Firstly,,this thesis elaborated the formation of the ARGUS system,discussing some problems such as debugging and installation of video acquisitive equipment,the framework of video acquisition system and the setup and format of data acquisition.Then,this thesis presents a method to extract shoreline position based on variance image,and obtain the average position of shoreline and maximum swash height.Finally,based on the principle of image analysis,this thesis will estimate the Chudao Island physical and ecological carrying capacity,and evaluate the bearing capacity of the coastal zone.The main conclusions are as follows:(1)The ARGUS system was adopted to measure the change of ChuDao Island's coastline in the aspect of data processing,and the extraction of the coastal zone is conducted after the edge extraction to enhance the degree of identification of the target;(2)ARGUS system is an effective method to acquire the elements such as wave,water flow,shoreline and geomorphological featured dynamic environment of long-playing and large-scale coastal zone;(3)The variance function of the average coastline position and the maximum swash height can be obtained by calculation and analysis of the stacking chart.The variance function shows a specific shape of shoreline,and obtains two specific positions,which is important for calculation of average coastline position.(4)Based on the principle of image,introduce the correction factor,conduct measurements in different areas according to their ranges of purpose,and the bearing capacity of the coastal zone can be effectively evaluated.
