The Study Of Western Astronomy In The Late Ming And Early Qing Dynasty By Japanese Scholars

Japanese scholars have made great achievements in the research of Chinese history of science and technology.Their research has attracted more and more attention from domestic scholars.By summarizing the related researches in China,we can clearly find the trend of domestic research on the history of science and technology from simple descriptive research to character centered development.Through the study of the Chinese scholars,we can also find the development process of the study of the history of Chinese Science in Japan.Taking the history of Chinese astronomy research in Japan as an example,started from astronomical chronology it became an independent discipline after the development of World War ?,and the craze for the study of intellectual history emerged in 70s.The study of the history of Chinese astronomy in Japan was strongly influenced by the "Kyoto School" and paid attention to the application of the methodology of textual research.And it is not only limited to the analysis of the development of internal scientific theory,but also more concerned with the influence of social,political and cultural factors on the development of science.The research methods of Japanese scholars are worthy of reference by domestic scholars.Beginning in the late Ming and early Qing dynasty,the first truly interaction with western science took place in the field of astronomy.Therefore,the study of the history of astronomy at the end of the Ming and early Qing Dynasty is of great significance to the study of the history of Science in China.Through the analysis of the research results of Japanese scholars we can see in the early Qing Dynasty,the differences between Japanese scholars and the Chinese scholars on the western missionaries and the eastern biography.Professor Kawahara Hideki referred to the research of Chinese scholars as "the paradigm of confrontation philosophy".He believed that the activity of knowledge dissemination is one-way,and the two sides are opposite.And that of Japanese scholars as the "paradigm of dialogue philosophy ",believe that in the process of learning from the west,the two sides are equally communicating and positively interacting with each other.And the introduction of Western science,has an important influence on Chinese academic development,not only will as a missionary tool.Either from the research method or the angle,perhaps the Japanese scholars'research can give some enlightenment and reference to us.
