In this paper, the development of the total and partial charge changing cross section of 28Si ions beam in carbon targets using the CR-39 detectors are reviewed. The newest experimental results of the total and partial charge changing cross sections, the scattering angle of 28Si and the emission angle of projectile fragments in carbon target at 600-750A MeV are presented. The dependence of the target mass and energy with the cross section of 28Si including the total and the partial charge changing cross sections are discussed. The emission angle, the transverse momentum distributions and the temperature parameter of projectile fragments produced in fragmentation of 28Si in carbon target at 710-736A MeV are measured. The experimental results of the total charge changing cross sections is in agreement with the results of other ones within experimental uncertainties, however, they are slightly higher than the theoretical value of Bradt-Peters semi-empirical formula. An obvious odd-even effect is observed in the projectile fragments?6?Z?12?production in all interactions. For the same type of projectile fragment, the partial charge changing cross sections increase with the creasing of the mass number of the target. The angular distribution of projectile fragments is larger than that of the primary particles and do not show any obvious energy dependence. It is found that the average value of emission angle and the transverse momentum, the width of the angle distribution and the transverse momentum distribution are decreased with the increase of the charge of projectile fragments in the reaction of 28Si on carbon targets at 710-736 A MeV.The cumulated squared transverse momentum distribution of a fragment can be well fitted by a single Rayleigh distribution. The temperature of projectile fragments?5?Z?13?emission source is about 2-6MeV and do not show any obvious charge dependence. For the same type of projectile fragment, the temperature of projectile fragments emission source do not show any obvious energy dependence.
