Classification And Evaluation Of Recreational Fishery Resources

With the improvement of people's living standards,people's desire for spiritual pleasure is becoming stronger.Recreation,relaxation,and returning to nature have become the focus of people's pursuit.Therefore,recreational fishery has emerged.Recreational fishery is an emerging industry combining fishery and tourism.It not only satisfies people's entertainment needs,but also provides employment opportunities for many fishermen,and is more conducive to the conservation of fishery resources,thus making the development of fisheries healthy and sustainable.At present,most researches on recreational fisheries focus on the management and strategy of problems and countermeasures,supply and demand,the relationship between recreational fishery and ecological environment.While,there are relatively few studies about the classification and evaluation of recreational fishery resources.In order to utilize those fishery resources scientifically and rationally as well as to develop projects full of local characteristics,classification of recreational fishery resources and rational evaluation methods are indispensable.Therefore,In the study,a classification method of recreational fishery resources was established,and a preliminary investigation of Pingtan's recreational fishery resources was conducted.Two kinds of recreational fishery resources with Pingtan characteristics were selected.SWOT-AHP quantitative evaluation model was constructed to evaluate these two resources and the further development strategies were proposed after systematically evaluated.The detailed results are as follows:1)Basing on the national standards proposed by the National Tourism Administration for tourism resource classification,tourism resource survey,and tourism resource evaluation,multi-level recreational fishery resources classification table including main categories,sub-categories and basic types according to the definition and classification of recreational fisheries was established.The main categories include natural fishery landscapes,biological fishery resources,fishery facilities,fishery products,and fishery culture.2)Using the above classification method,a preliminary investigation was conducted on the types of recreational fishery resources in Pingtan.The preliminary investigation results showed that Pingtan recreational fishery resources are rich in types,mainly involving five main categories and 13 sub-categories and 31 basic types.3)Stone house and net fishing on beach are two unique recreational fishery resources in Pingtan.SWOT-AHP quantitative evaluation model was constructed to evaluate these two resources.Based on the results of SWOT-AHP analysis about stone house,its development strategies are as follows: rely on Pingtan's rich tourism resources to promote the development of stone house;improve supporting facilities and services;improve the quality of the existing managers;do specialization and avoid homogenization;enrich marketing and propaganda methods,continue to enhance the popularity;explore more activities which could experience fishermen traditional culture;introduce more relevant professionals;government,enterprises,and fish men cooperate with each other.Based on the results of SWOT-AHP analysis about net fishing on beach,its development strategies are as follows: differentiated services for different tourists;increase safety protection measures;enrich project content;strengthen resources and environmental protection;improve regulatory management;strength advertisement;set up industry associations;plan travel routes,provide detailed participation protocols;support demonstration model practice bases,etc.
