Research On Sustainable Development Of Yimengshan UNESCO Global Geopark

The Global Geopark was established under the leadership of United Nations Educational,Scientific and Cultural Organization(UNESCO),which aims to protect geosite and natural environment,what's more,to promote the sustainable development of geoparks and regional economy.The construction of the Global Geopark is a systematic and complex project,which faces many problems.We need to carry out construction standards strictly in accordance with the UNESCO Global Geopark(UGGp)and work by the concept of sustainable development.This paper relies on the Yimengshan UNESCO Global Geopark application project,and takes the UGGp as the research object.On the basis of field survey,park planning and other works,the development situation of the UGGp is summarized,the sustainable development advantages of the UGGp are analyzed.At last,in combination with the recommendations of the on-site inspection and evaluation of UNESCO experts,the development strategy of the UGGp was proposed.This paper aims to through the discussion of the sustainable development of the UGGp,to provide a theoretical basis for the future protection and construction of geological heritage in the UGGp,moreover,to provide reference for the development and construction of other geoparks.The understanding of this paper is as follows:1.Three advantages of sustainable development in the UGGp are analyzed,including location conditions,geosite,natural and human resources,previous research achievements and cooperation foundations.2.The problems existing in the construction of the UGGp are analyzed,including six aspects: great regional differences of every park,imperfect management system,inadequate protection of resources and environment,inadequate construction of Geopark,lack of community integration,imperfect planning of Geopark and insufficient progress of scientific research activities.3.According to the concept of sustainable development and the problems existing in the geopark,and combining with the evaluation of expert's opinions,the sustainable development strategy of the geopark is put forward.The development strategy mainly includes increasing the scientific research of the geopark,maintaining and renewing the infrastructure,improving the planning and management ability,strengthening the construction concept of geopark,creating products and brands of the geopark,strenthening the development of tourism products,promoting the geological science education,realizing "digital geopark",strengthening the connection between domestic and foreign geoparks,and developing fund-raising programs,etc.Providing theoretical guidance for the sustainable development of the UGGp,and providing reference for other geoparks' construction planning.
