Farmland is the cornerstone of human survival and development, and the essence of land resources. However, with the social progress and economic development, human demand for cultivated land resources is increasing day by day,the pressure of cultivated land is increasing, and cultivated land resources are seriously threatened. The status quo of sustainable utilization of cultivated land resources has aroused people's deep thinking and research.Sustainable utilization of cultivated land has become an important direction to explore the future survival and development of mankind.Henan Province is a major agricultural province in China, and it is also the core area of national food production. It shoulders the responsibility of national food security. It is also the most populous province in the country, with a total population of10.09 million.Henan Province in the face of huge demand for arable land resources, whether to maintain the sustainable use of arable land resources is very important.By using the improved ecological footprint model, namely"regional hectare"(national hectare and provincial hectare)ecological footprint model, this paper calculates the consumption level of cultivated land resources and the production capacity of cultivated land resources in Henan Province and its 18 cities in recent ten years, dynamically analyses the development status of cultivated land ecological footprint and ecological carrying capacity in Henan Province. The development stage of cultivated land resources in Henan Province is judged by the coefficient of sustainable utilization of cultivated land. The results show that:a.Looking at Henan Province as a whole, the results show that the per capita ecological footprint of Henan Province in the study area is larger than the per capita ecological carrying capacity, and the cultivated land resources are in the state of ecological deficit as a whole. The per capita ecological footprint and the per capita ecological deficit showed a fluctuating upward trend. The per capita ecological footprint increased by 5.9%from 0.1301372hm~2 in 2008 to 0.1382931hm~2 in 2017.The per capita ecological deficit showed a fluctuating upward trend from 2010 to 2012,with a large fluctuation range and a sustained growth trend after 2012.The coefficient of sustainable utilization of cultivated land is in the weak unsustainable stage. The fluctuation range is small, but it tends to be medium unsustainable.b.Looking at the cities of Henan Province, the sustainable utilization coefficient of cultivated land in 18 cities of Henan Province in the study area is in the intersection stage of weak unsustainable and medium unsustainable. The pressure of cultivated land is high, and the sustainable utilization of cultivated land is threatened.By comparing the per capita ecological footprint of cultivated land in Henan province in2017,the per capita ecological footprint of 18 cities is higher than the per capita ecological carrying capacity, and all of them have different degrees of per capita ecological deficit. The per capita ecological deficit of Zhumadian city is the highest,0.117683 hm~2,which is 6.56 times higher than that of Zhengzhou city, which is the lowest. In 2017,the sustainable utilization coefficient of cultivated land in all cities except Xinyang City is in the weak unsustainable stage, and the other cities are in the medium unsustainable stage.
