With the rapid development of China's economy and the continuous progress of information technology, information systems have been gradually applied in various fields of our society, including the medical field. Now the hospital information system(HIS)has been basically popularized in China's second and third-level hospitals in order to improve the clinical diagnosis, treatment effect and work efficiency. But only users of hospital information system use the system effectively, can their personal goals of using the system and hospitals' targets of implementing the system be realized. Moreover, most of the existing researches focus on the frequency and duration of system use to explore the factors that may allow users to accept and adopt a system. There are few studies concentrated on the system's effective use. Therefore,in this paper,we will probe into the influencing factors of effective use of hospital information system.Whether doctors and nurses can effectively use the hospital information system determines whether the system can truly exert its benefits and achieve the goals of the organizations and users.Based on the Theory of Planned Behavior(TPB)and the Technology Acceptance Model(TAM),this paper constructs a model of influencing factors for the effective use of hospital information system(HIS),and explores how personal factors, technical factors and environmental factors directly and interactively affect the effective use of HIS.An empirical study has been conducted on doctors, nurses and hospital managers.A total of 365 valid questionnaires were collected and used for structural equation model analysis to verify the research model and hypotheses. The result shows that: First, except information security expectation in individual factors,self-efficacy in individual factors, information quality and system quality in technical factors and management support in environmental factor all have a direct and positive impact on the effective use of HIS by doctors and nurses.Second, management support also positively moderates the relationship between self-efficacy,information quality and system quality and effective use.Based on the research result, this paper finally will give practical suggestions in the conclusion part, and explain the limitations of this study and the prospects for the future. On the theoretical side, our study will not only provide a new perspective to explore the hospital information system and the effective use of the system by users, but also enrich the research on the use of the information system and fill the research gaps for the effective use of the hospital information system. On the practical side, our study will assist system designers to design a hospital information system that is a better match for the daily work of doctors, nurses and hospital managers. What's more, besides encouraging hospital managers to fully understand the information system in order to create a better using environment, our study can also help doctors and nurses to improve their own quality and find more appropriate ways to use the system.
