Operational Performance Evalutation Of Unattended Convenience Store:A Two-stage EBM DEA Method Based

Retail industry,as one of the most crucial industries,is strongly associated with People's Daily life and plays a very significant role in the economy.With the technological progress,and great development of the retail industry,a new model-unattended convenience store has emerged in the market with operating situation and existing problems under serious attention by lots of scholars.Efficiency evaluation is a widely and effective method to determine the best production frontier of an enterprise and finds the key points of improving performance and productivity.The paper,from the perspective of operating structure,adopts two-stage DEA method for evaluating the operating efficiency of enterprises.Firstly,this paper summarizes the retail performance measurement methodology and research status of two-stage DEA with undesirable variables.The new mode-unattended convenience store is the research gap and there are few scholars establishing two-stage DEA model for efficiency evaluation considering the complex state with undesirable intermediate variables and direct outputs.Secondly,deeply analysis into the inner structure of enterprise operation,the performance evaluation is divided into two sub-system including the distribution and the marketing.For unattended convenience store,we build an evaluation indicators system with undesirable variables and taking economy,society,environment dimensions into account.Thirdly,according to the characters of the indicators,the constraint conditions of the undesirable output in the first stage,the undesirable intermediate variable and undesirable output in the second stage of the model are established by using the weak free disposability,expanded and the non-free disposability respectively.In this paper,the radial and non-radial DEA methods are combined to establish a two-stage EBM DEA performance evaluation model,which is used to evaluate and analyze the results of Auchan unattended convenience store.The results show that the model is effective and practical,which enriches the existing two-stage DEA research methods.Finally,Tobit regression analysis was used to analyze the factors affecting the operation efficiency and the geographical location and environment of unattended convenience stores,and the shortage rate are the key factors.
